I enjoyed reading The 5 Love Languages before we got married. It was actually a requirement from our pre-marital counseling team. Which was fine with us, of course. We read the one for children and soon I will need to start reading the one for teenagers!
I gave this book to my hubby. He took his time reading it which I'm grateful for and I have noticed some great changes in our day to day conversations. I didn't read it, but I did take a gander through it just to see what it was all about. I must say there are some spot on topics that I was excited for my hubby to read! There's a part where Mr. Chapman talks about how the men say what they say. I have a very sarcastic husband. He's all about the good-natured ribbing. I've learned to let things roll off my back because that's just who he is. Just ask his co-workers! I can remember times when he's hurt my feelings and I would like to believe it wasn't intentional. I was very excited after he read that section because I have noticed a change in his tone when speaking to me about things. God is good!!!
I didn't personally read this book, but I think it would be a great gift for the men in your lives. Just make sure they read it! My hubby was a slow starter and every time I would look at the book he was a few more pages into it. I don't know if any of you have one of these, but my hubby is a bathroom reader. Just put the book in the bathroom. :)
