Passport2Purity

Your child begins the journey into adolescence in a world of sexting, bullying, online stalking and moral defiance.  Innocence is under attack, and you cannot win the battle with a single awkward talk or a strict set of rules.  The primary defense for your child is a strong relationship with you and with God.  FamilyLife developed  Passport2Purity (P2P) to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare him or her for the turbulent years ahead.  Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a P2P weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity - and strengthen the bond between you.  It is designed to be used by a mother and daughter or a father and son when the child is a preteen.  It is suggested that the materials be completed over a weekend away from home, as the child may be more open to discussing the topics away from his or her normal environment.  If this isn't possible, the material can be completed over a period of four or five weeks.

It's been a little uncomfortable for me to bring up certain topics with my pre-teen child. His father hasn't brought anything up either. Our parents aren't Christians and we figured things out from friends and teachers at school or the television. We want to do things different for our children. We both know the time has come to have this chat before he gets any older and learns from people around him whether it be good or bad. This kit makes it an easier process for all of us. I really enjoyed listening to the cd sessions. This kit just prepares you and lays out everything you need to do. It's exactly what we needed.

The whole getaway idea is a genius idea! It makes for an exciting weekend with fun and important conversation, but it also keeps it light and not too intense. There are activities suggested to fill in some of the time and bring God's word to real life situations.

My son got his own journal and we had out Tour Guide that goes along with your child's journal. The CDs are AMAZING! I don't know what I would have done without the help of this system. We would have had the talk obviously, but it wouldn't have been as informative and as understandable for him.

This is great for any parent of a pre-teen and for that said teen. Pray and seek God about whether this is something that could benefit you and your child.

Compose Yourself

ThinkFun has done it again! We LOVE music in our family. In fact, I sing in the shower and play a fabulous air guitar. I don't like to toot my own horn so I'll stop right there. My eldest child, however, plays 3 actual instruments, so he's a little more educated than I.

We were excited to have a chance to play Compose Yourself. I can now create beautiful music without even trying too hard. My son will print what he has composed and play it on the piano....I'm not there yet.

This game was created by world-famous composer and cellist, Maestro Philip Sheppard. We are so thankful for such a fun game with endless creativity for the kiddos.

This kid has composed a few different songs and titled them already. The one he's holding he calls "The Peaceful Dance."

I'm an instant fan when my kids ask to play Compose Yourself instead of their Wii games!

You can get your own game on Amazon for a great price! I highly encourage you to go check it out!

Thank you to the wonderful folks at ThinkFun for allowing us to review this game. The above is our honest opinion of this product.
